Yahoo Mail is not loading emails

If the inbox keeps spinning without loading, start with the browser cache — clear cookies and cached files specifically for yahoo.com, not your entire browsing history. Then try a hard refresh (`Ctrl+Shift+R`). If the issue continues in Chrome or Edge, open the same mailbox in Firefox or Safari to rule out a browser extension conflict. The Yahoo Mail mobile app can also freeze after an update — force close it, clear the app cache in your device settings, and relaunch it.

Account sign-in error

A failed sign-in usually comes down to one of these things:

- The password was changed on another device and the current session hasn’t updated yet

- The two-step verification code arrives late or not at all — check that your recovery phone number is still active

- The account was temporarily locked after several failed attempts — wait 15–30 minutes before trying again

- Browser autofill is entering an outdated password — clear the saved credentials for yahoo.com and type it manually

Mail search returns no results

Yahoo Mail’s built-in search can lose its index after a long session. Sign out completely, sign back in, and run the search again. If you’re looking for older emails, note that the default search scope may be limited — use the `All` filter and narrow it down manually by date range. On mobile, the search bar sometimes ignores attachments unless you add `has:attachment` as a keyword prefix.

Emails are not sending

If a message gets stuck in the Outbox, the most common cause is a large attachment — Yahoo limits outgoing attachments to 25 MB. Resize or remove the file and try again. Another common cause is a browser session timeout: the compose window stays open, but the authentication token expires, so the send request fails silently. Refresh the page, reopen the draft, and send it again.

Media files and attachments won’t open

- Inline images may be blocked by browser security settings — allow yahoo.com to load remote content

- PDF preview may fail in the web app — download the file directly instead of using the built-in viewer

- Video attachments may not play if the format isn’t natively supported — download and open them locally

- Slow attachment loading often points to a weak connection rather than a server issue — try a different network
